Here we go again...

Well we are doing some remodeling, actually quite a bit of remodeling. We have torn out the floor of our living/dining room, a wall and are probably going to continue on with kitchen cabinets and counters. So far we have part of the sub-floor, 2 new windows and 1/2 of the sheet-rock put up. It already looks fantastic. I love how it's been opened up by taking out the wall of the kitchen. Here are a few shots of before and during..."after" will be a while...=) (The one that shows my kitchen in plastic, is the wall we tore out that separated the kitchen and dining room.)

Did you think you'd see a new one?

Hi there! *waving and smiling!!!*

I know if has been a very long time since I've done any posting, but sometimes life gets in the way. My life has changed significantly since my last post in...ummm...May '07...yikes!
So, what have we been up to??? Well, I am a working mom now, (like I WASN'T before?). I had a job pretty much fall into my lap this past September. I am a Educational Interpreter. I interpret in sign language for a 1st grade boy at the school just a skip down the street. I am LOVING it! I went in knowing some sign, but have grown in that area, (as you can imagine) leaps and bounds since September when I started. He is a great kid. Very smart, witty and funny. The teacher whose classroom I am in is also great to work with. I work the same days/hours as my kids and have the summers off. How perfect is that for someone who wasn't really ready to jump into the outside my home career world? My kids are way too young to let someone else take care of them or to care for themselves, (without killing each other!). My heart is still at home and thankfully God let me have the best of both of those very different worlds.

My family is wonderful. My sweet girl is almost 8 and 5' 3"! She is really smart, in second grade and reading way beyond that. She's also doing multiplication and it excites her to no end that that finally "clicked" in her brain. Tiger is also multiplying, up to number 4 and he is in 1st grade! He lost his two side teeth on top, the ones right next to the two, big, front teeth. He totally looks like a jack-o-lantern! Hubby's shifts changed in January, still nights, but driving home. He's doing well. We get a weekend away together the 14th-16th. I have a S.E.E. Sign confrence and the principal said he was welcomed to tag along. Everything is paid, except his food. That's my kind of get-away.

I will really try to be better about posting. Things have sure been busy, but I will do my best to fit this in from time to time.
Until then,
Kimberley

My sister's new love...

Justin is his name and he is a REALLY great guy. My WHOLE family really likes this guy. They've been together about 6 months or so. He has been very good for my sister, her little one too. My niece adores "her cousin" Justin! My photos are a little blurry, (and he WAS NOT happy I was taking his picture) but at least you get an idea.

Texas Strawberries???

I am making my 1st of 2 spring batches of strawberry jam. My Mom picked these up for me at Costco. I had to take a picture...I have never SEEN bigger strawberries. They are red all through and are juicy and sweet. Made good jam yesterday too! That's my hand...and I really don't have very small hands. The biggest part of the one I am holding measured 6.5 inches in diameter. Had to share!

My "baby is 7!

I can't believe it. Does that ever change? Do they have a birthday day just once where you go, "Yah, it really seems like it has been that many years!"? Anyway, here are a fre pics from her parties. 1 sleepover with friends, 1 with family.
Enjoy!

Shadow Box

Woops! Forgot to add this one too...

MY NEW BASEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay people...here it is...for those of you who have been following, we are nearly done in the basement! We got our carpet today and it is beautiful. I also made a shadow box of all the things we have found remodeling in and around our home. Our house is 101 years old, so some of the things are pretty interesting...

My Daughter, my blessing...

I haven't been able to do much lately, have to keep from lifting 10 pounds for at least 2 weeks, (so easy right...ha!) Anyway, my sweet girl has been a HUGE help to me vacuuming and even doing laundry! She's not even 7 yet! She goes down, loads 'em up, and soap 'n such, dries those when they are done and even folds!!! Hasn't asked for it to be a part of her "allowance" or anything. So happy to do it to help out her Momma. I've said it before...and will probably say it a million more times...she has truly, the kindest heart of anyone I have even known...AND...she's mine.
Thank You God, for the completly astounding blessing I have been given in such a squeezable, loving and kind-hearted package.

Gallbladders...who needs em???

Well, for those of you who know me personally, thank you for your thoughts, well wishes and cute cards. I'm doing all right, not healing very quickly for this busy Mom though! I actually had to stay 2 days in the hospital and went back today for some test to make sure I have no internal "leaks". I still have a lot of residual pain in my side, so I had to go to the hospital for blood work, X-ray and ultrasound. No fun, especially since I had no pain meds and I had to go alone...no fun. Anyway, please continue to keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Tiger in the tub...again...

My son, he is certainly one of a kind.
Gave him a bath last night, got him out, drying him off, *big fart* Tiger, "Man, I should've saved that one for the bath tub! They sound loud and funny in the bath tub Mom!"
What a kid!
