...and going on 6...or is it 16?

So Lexi has had a very teen-aged attitude and way of talking lately. Very valley-girl-ish. Ugh. Even my best friends 7 year old said she, "sounded like a teenager" when talking on the phone last week. Using lots of "like"s before every sentence, stuff like that. I have no idea where she got it, school I guess.
Anyway, a while back Aaron was trying to have her to get ready so they could leave. She was putzing along, not hurrying at all. He told her she needed to hurry up and she told him that she was trying to finish something. He then told her, "that's not a very good excuse." She swung around to look at him and with a swing of her hip, (and her long, blonde hair following) she said, "Well, I'm using it!" Oh my! He was stunned, like a deer in headlights. He had no idea what to do. Poor guy, won't be the first time she leaves him speechless. (She will be viewing the inside of a corner though!)

Is it Really THAT Important?

Okay, so those of you who know me well, know that I enjoy sex as much as the next person, but is it REALLY the consumption of all thoughts?
Today, I walked Lexi to school, thank God! We were standing waiting for the bell to ring and a group of 4 of the 8th grade boys were standing around talking. Aargh! One was bragging how he has his dad's credit card information and has been using it to get into internet porn sites. He was being a bit discriptive about the things you can see/do on them. So, I got a bit upset and said, in a raised voice, "Common' guys! Do you SEE the little ones right behind you? Do you really need to talk about that right NOW?" The kid who was doing the bragging turned around and said, "What? I didn't say anything!" to which I replied, "Are you kidding? I HEARD what you were saying. We're standing RIGHT HERE!". 2 kindergarteners and I were standing not 3 feet from them and he wasn't doing much to talk quietly. I was so pissed! After I walked Lexi in to her classroom and went straight to the Principal's office and told her the story. She thanked me for letting her know and was on the phone with the 8th grade teacher as I left. I'm worried now though that he will take reprocussionary (sp?, is that even a word?) measures. He'll know that it was I who told and he lives 1 block over in our tiny town. Not that I regret at all telling...especially if he really DOES have his dad's credit card. Anyway...just a little vent I decided to add to today's blog content. Thanks for listening!

Ready For GQ?

Here he is ladies...just kidding. Tiger had me fix his hair, "all fancy" and then wanted me to take a picture. He learned a new saying from one of his buddies at school, "Yo, yo, yo! What's up Bro?!" And he's been saying it all week! The hair and glasses really go with the saying...let me tell ya.
What a goof-ball!

Trying another photo...

"Cheese!" Here's my sweet "Tiger" with his tigers. He's about 18 months here. (Thought I'd add a photo of him since I've been bragging on Lexi so much lately!)

Then and Now.

Here are my kids tiny and now. Boy have they grown! David is 4 1/2 and Lexi will be 6 next month.

Planning Ahead...

Lexi is good at that. This time she's REALLY planning ahead. She told me last night she'd like to be Jesus for Halloween next fall. So I asked her what she would wear if she was going to be Jesus, (interested in what she'd come up with!). She told me that first she would have Kayli, (my 2 year old niece) dress up as her angle to walk along with her. Then she would dress all in white with a "red thing" to go around her shoulder(sash). She then paused and thought for a moment and looked back up at me as if to have a bigger idea and said, "Then Mom, I could wear suspenders and make a cloud to go all around me!" gesturing around her middle thigh. So I asked what the cloud would be for, (trying not to giggle at her sweetness). In a very hello? duh! sort of tone she answered, "Because He lives in heaven Mom!" Love it! Their imagination and creativity is just the best, isn't it?!

Lexi Can Speak Spanish?

I'm STILL giggling! What a cutie my sweet girl is. Today when Lexi gave me a valentine I told her thank you in sign language, putting my hand over my mouth and bringing it down to my other hand. She said to me, (in a totally excited voice), "Mommy, I know what you said! You said thank you and I know that because I can speak spanish!" How cute is that!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

The Joy of Learning To Draw...

My sweet girl was working on her homework today and asked me to help. They are working on the letter 'N', so she needed to write words that start with N, draw pictures that would have the Nnnn sound, etc. So, she wanted to draw night, with the moon and stars. When trying to draw a star she got VERY frusterated. I was trying to help and then decided to take a different approach. You know how a kid will draw a star kris-crossing the lines right? I showed her that it was just 3 triangles. She did one all buy herself and was EXTATIC!!! So, her homework for tomorrow...the letter N a couple of times...the word night, (that I wrote) a little tiny moon and about 1, 000 stars. Too cute!

Pittsburg Cheerleader?

I have tried to write this 3 times now and for some reason I'm having trouble??? Anyway, Lexi got to dress up for school the Friday before the Super Bowl. We had to borrow the shirt and hat from a friend because we're not big football fans. So the shirt was a bit too big, but she really looked adorable, (when DOESN'T she?!)
Hope everyone who wanted to, had a fun Super Bowl Sunday!
*Sorry-for some reason the pics won't load, I'll try again later.*
